This was a project in Grad Dip 1, to regenerate part of Leeds.
The Sound Dock is a recording studio sat ontop of the music outlet store below. Musicians record exclusive tracks and the Sound Dock sells direct to fans in a digital format. It is also a venue for album launch parties, music gigs and private hire parties.
The redevelopment of the area had digital technology as the driving concept. Buildings on the new square have interactive animated facades, and buletooth technology allows shoppers in the square to be alerted to deals and bargains on the high street, directed to their own shopping preferences. It also becomes a meeting space and improves the footfall through the area, as the existing buildings are not welcoming and intimidating.
